| Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes directs counties to provide for a Jury Commission to oversee the selection of citizens who are called to serve as jurors. There are two elected Jury Commissioners; one from each of the two major political parties. They are elected to a four-year term. The third member of the commission is the President Judge of the judicial district. |
 |
The Office of the Jury Commissioners works to summon jurors; review qualification questionnaires; provide the Courts with jury lists and see that the jurors are properly registered and are kept comfortable during their term of service. Jury duty in Mercer County is for a period of one week. The Jury Commissioners are available to assist jurors and answer questions. |
